Guidelines for Submission

Author Guidelines

The American Journal of Psychiatric Rehabilitation invites original research articles, review papers, theoretical analyses, and policy discussions that align with its focus on psychiatric rehabilitation and mental health. Manuscripts must be previously unpublished and not under consideration elsewhere. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure scholarly rigor and ethical integrity.

Scope of Submissions

The journal welcomes interdisciplinary contributions that address, but are not limited to, the following topics:

  • Psychiatric rehabilitation and recovery
  • Mental health service delivery and policy
  • Psychosocial and behavioral interventions
  • Community-based care and inclusion
  • Education, employment, and housing supports
  • Integrated care models and collaborative practices

Submission Preparation

Manuscripts should be well-organized and prepared according to the following structure:

  • Title Page: Include the manuscript title, author names, institutional affiliations, and contact details
  • Abstract: 150–250 words, followed by 4–6 keywords
  • Main Text: Structured according to article type (e.g., Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion)
  • References: Must follow APA 7th edition style
  • Tables and Figures: Clearly labeled and cited in the text with appropriate captions
  • Ethics and Disclosures: Include a statement of ethical approval (if applicable) and a conflict-of-interest declaration

Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt

Spacing: Double-spaced

File Format: MS Word (.doc or .docx)

Page Numbers: Include at the bottom of each page

Heading Style: Use a consistent heading structure (e.g., H1, H2, H3)

Submission Process
